Portland, ME—Burgess Advertising & Marketing is proud to be selected as the winner of a Silver Communicator Award in the category of Content Marketing: Overall Social Presence for its campaign promoting MaineHousing’s First Home Loans.
MaineHousing, a quasi-state agency that has helped Mainers rent, buy and heat their homes since 1969, enlisted the help of Burgess in March of 2015 to market 500 new loans for first-time homebuyers as part of the First Home Loan program. To meet this ambitious goal, Burgess developed and managed a comprehensive plan, including creating a new First Home Loan logo and web landing page, a digital ad campaign, and a robust social media plan.
Through strategic social media outreach, MaineHousing targeted renters with moderate incomes, ages 25-44, throughout Maine. Special efforts were also made to reach millennials; veterans and active-duty military, who qualify for the loans despite previous home ownership; and "returning" homebuyers, who are eligible after three years of not owning a home. The campaign contributed to 750 new First Home Loans being written by MaineHousing during 2015—a significant improvement over recent years.
“We are extremely pleased with the increased public awareness of our program and the number of new homeowners who have directly benefitted from a MaineHousing First Home Loan,” said Craig Reynolds, Director of Homeownership at MaineHousing.
Burgess was one of over 6,000 entries to the Communicator Awards in the U.S. and around the world. The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.
