Burgess Advertising Wins International Awards

(Portland, ME) - Burgess Advertising, a full service agency in Portland, ME, has won two major awards in The 2006 Communicator Awards, the International awards competition that recognizes outstanding work in the communications field.

Entries are judged by industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

Burgess Advertising received the top accolade, the Crystal Award for Excellence, for its’ "Bear Necessity" campaign for Messer Truck Equipment. This award is presented to the entry that the judging panel feels places the creators among the best in their field.

Burgess also won an Awards of Distinction for its Cabin Fever Kids for the Maine Engineering Promotion Council. The Awards of Distinction is presented for campaigns the judging panel believes exceed industry standards in communicating a message or an idea.

Judy Katzel, President of Burgess Advertising, said although the agency was thrilled to have been honored in an international competition, the most gratifying aspect of both the Cabin Fever Kids and Bear Necessity campaigns was that they were hugely successful for the client.

In December Burgess won two major prizes at the 2006 Golden Arrow Awards, an annual competition organized by the Maine Public Relations Council.
