Golden Arrow Awards Cap off Successful Week for Burgess
Portland, ME - October 16, 2009 – Burgess Advertising & Marketing capped off a remarkable week last night by winning four major awards at the 18th annual Maine Public Relations Council's Golden Arrow Awards ceremony, held at the Wydham Hotel in South Portland, Maine.
Earlier in the week, the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management recognized Burgess Advertising & Marketing as one of the top three places to work in the small business category at the 2009 Best Places to Work in Maine banquet in Lewiston, Maine. There were 31 finalists.
The Golden Arrows provide a forum for exhibiting exemplary work from Maine's public relations practitioners, promote public recognition of the high quality of communications produced in Maine, and gain corporate and client recognition for top quality PR efforts. This year the Public Relations Council of Alabama’s Mobile chapter judged the awards.
Gold and Silver awards are presented in a variety of categories, ranging from materials design to comprehensive communications campaigns.
Burgess, now in its 23rd year of providing full marketing business in Portland, won:
- A Gold Award in the Audio Visual category for Mercy Hospital for its "New England Eating Disorders Cinema PSA"
- A Gold Award in the Communications Campaign category for Maine Housing for its "Gift of Green" Campaign
- A Gold Award in the Annual Reports category for Efficiency Maine
- A Silver Award in the Communications Campaign for The Portland International Jetport for its "Maine's Funniest Frequent Flyer" campaign
Judy Katzel, President of Burgess Advertising & Marketing, said the week had shown that providing a safe, secure and enjoyable place to work for a very talented and versatile staff is the best path to providing great creative work.
"I believe that winning awards for producing on-target, successful public relations and marketing campaigns can be directly tied to having happy employees who love what they do," she said.
